About Me

Who am I?

I am a teacher who has worked in both English and French schools for the past 5 years and have enjoyed every minute of it.  I enjoy teaching all subjects, however I have a preference for language and literary arts.  Currently, I work full-time as an elementary school teacher in a French school division.

I gained my Bachelor of Arts degree from a small school in Minnesota in 2015.  During that program I gained a great appreciation for the importance of language and the benefits of learning and speaking other languages.  As a result of this affinity for languages, I became interested in teaching English as a second language.  Unsurprisingly, my undergraduate program was in Communication Language Arts teaching and I focused on both English and French literature.  Also, during my years in undergraduate studies had the opportunity to both learn and teach in urban and rural settings.  Through this education program I had the opportunity to student teach both in Minnesota and southern Spain, yet again adding to my interest in languages and how they influence us.

Throughout my entire educational career, I have been interested in learning the teaching methods that are best used to support learning and teaching English as a second language.  I am extremely excited to work towards my Teaching English as a Second Language Certification over the next year and hope I will have many opportunities to put this certification to work after I have completed the process.
